Nervous - but with an open mind

Allan describes the expectations before the first treatment:

"When I heard about the "Re-Mind" treatment, I didn't expect how much it would change me life.

“I had made peace with how my life had turned out, so I was very nervous about having to have the first treatment. What could happen? And would anything even happen? I went in with an open mind and expected nothing, but believed and hoped for it."

Second treatment a week later

A week later Allan had his second treatment:

"Second treatment a week later worked differently than the first. It was more targeted on my right side. I could now actually lift my right arm up onto the table and down again. The control of my right leg also improved. The contact on the right side became even more "open" after treatment no. 2."

Allan looks back on the process

How the Re-Mind treatment works

Re-Mind is a medical treatment that targets neuroinflammation - an inflammatory condition that can occur in the brain after, among other things, a concussion, a traumatic brain injury, a blood clot or bleeding in the brain or covid-19. “After a brain haemorrhage, damage occurs in the brain tissue, which can trigger a persistent local inflammatory process – neuroinflammation. This condition can contribute to the late effects seen in many patients: fatigue, cognitive difficulties, reduced motor control and disturbances in the senses, including taste and vision disturbances. The Re-Mind treatment aims to dampen the inflammatory activity in the brain. Patients react individually to the treatment, and it is not possible to predict the effect in advance - just as it is not effective for everyone."

The treatment is off-label. This means that an approved drug is used for a purpose other than that for which the drug was originally approved. All patients receive information about this and give informed consent.

You must know this before a treatment

All patients undergo a mandatory specialist medical assessment before a Re-Mind treatment, screening blood tests and a thorough review of the medical history. The treatment is only offered to those who are deemed suitable - and not everyone experiences an effect.

The side effects described in the treatment are generally mild and short-lived. These may be local redness or itching at the injection site, a slight fever without an actual increase in temperature or a temporary headache that typically subsides within a day.
