One and a half years in rehabilitation
After 1.5 years of intensive rehabilitation, Emil recovered well physically. He could walk, get a driver's license and is currently doing a STU - specially organized youth education. But two challenges followed him: a pronounced tremor in his left arm and periods of brain fatigue and a lack of overview.
Susanne, Emil's mother, talks about the path to Re-Mind treatment:
"Emil is happy and doing well, but his arm has been a problem for him. And then he suffers from brain fatigue. We heard about Re-Mind and have followed the results for 8-9 months to assess whether it would help." Emil.”
Two treatments – and the arm became calmer
In May, Emil received two Re-Mind treatments. He says himself:
"I was tired of fiddling with my arm, so I wanted to try Re-Mind if it could help. In May, I had two treatments, and my arm was much better immediately. It is much calmer, I can lift a glass and eat with a knife and fork almost without problems. At the same time, I can sense much better when I get too tired and need to rest. I can sense myself better. Although I still get tired, it is It's great that others don't have to tell me."
Susanne hears about Emil's progress from several sources:We hear that Emil is quicker to respond and answer questions. I would say that the Re-Mind treatment is well worth it, but it's not something else that has helped that arm, even though we've tried everything. Emil's arm still tingles when he gets tired [...]".

Re-Mind is a medical treatment that targets neuroinflammation – an inflammatory condition that can occur in the brain after, among other things, a concussion, a traumatic brain injury, a blood clot or bleeding in the brain or covid-19. The treatment is offered by Rehab-Partner | Neurologic Recovery Clinics and is supervised by the clinic's neurologist, Güven Gürbüz, specialist in neurology. He explains the background to the treatment:
"In the case of a traumatic brain injury - such as that which occurs after a serious accident with prolonged coma - the brain tissue is exposed to a severe load that can set off a continuous inflammatory process: neuroinflammation. This inflammatory condition can affect motor control and manifest itself as involuntary tremors, and it can also contribute to brain fatigue and a reduced ability to register and regulate the body's own signals. The Re-Mind treatment aims to suppress this inflammation. Patients react individually, and it is not possible to predict the effect in advance - just as the treatment does not work for everyone."
The treatment is off-label. This means that an approved medicine is used for a purpose other than that for which the medicine was originally approved. All patients receive information about this and give informed consent.
You must know this before a treatment
A Re-Mind treatment requires a mandatory specialist assessment, review of the medical history and screening blood tests. Not everyone is a suitable candidate – and even among those who receive the treatment, not everyone experiences an effect.
Any side effects are typically mild and short-lived: slight redness or itching at the injection site, a transient sensation of fever without an actual fever or transient headache, usually lasting only one day.
Re-Mind is given as a medical supplement to the other treatment and rehabilitation. You can read more about the treatment or sign up for an information meeting at Neurologic Recovery Clinics.
