The accident took his balance – and much more

How the Re-Mind treatment works
Re-Mind is a medical treatment aimed at neuroinflammation – an inflammatory condition that can occur in the brain after, among other things, a concussion, a traumatic brain injury, a blood clot or bleeding in the brain or covid-19. The treatment is offered by Rehab-Partner | Neurologic Recovery Clinics and is supervised by the clinic's neurologist, Güven Gürbüz, specialist in neurology. He explains the background to the treatment:
"A traumatic brain injury - such as that resulting from a skull fracture - can damage the brain's blood-brain barrier, which normally protects the brain tissue from harmful substances. When this barrier is weakened, it can trigger a persistent inflammatory state in the brain: what we call neuroinflammation. Balance problems, speech problems and the kind of mental fatigue that makes it difficult to maintain attention in conversations and everyday situations are symptoms that we see when neuroinflammation is present. The Re-Mind treatment aims to suppress this inflammation. It is important to emphasize that the effect depends, among other things, on the degree to which the symptoms originate from the inflammation itself."
The treatment is off-label. This means that an approved medicine is used for a purpose other than that for which the medicine was originally approved. All patients receive information about this and give informed consent.
You must know this before a treatment
Before a Re-Mind treatment, all patients undergo a mandatory assessment by a specialist in neurology, a review of the medical history and screening blood tests. The treatment is only offered if the condition is deemed suitable - and there is no guarantee of effectiveness.
Side effects are generally mild. They may include transient redness or itching at the injection site, a short-term sensation of fever without an actual fever, or a slight transient headache – typically lasting one day.
