"3 years ago I was kicked in the head by a horse and got a concussion. This meant I had a life of daily headaches, dizziness, nausea and great sensitivity to light and sound. When I walked, every step hurt my head. I was tired and lacked energy and energy - it was the feeling of having a constant hangover, and I never felt quite myself. myself.”
Karina's experience of the treatment
Karina heard about the Re-Mind treatment and decided to try it. About the treatment itself and the time afterwards, she says:
"I heard about the "Re-Mind" treatment and thought it almost sounded too good to be true - but I had to try it. Shortly after the first treatment, while I was still lying in the chair, I suddenly felt that my body was relaxing."
"The headache lessened, the sensitivity to sound and light lessened and I could suddenly feel the wind on my face like something new. I felt like I was starting to be myself again. I felt so much better and was looking forward to the second treatment."
"After the second treatment I feel even better. My headache is much less. I can walk without every step hurting my head. The feeling of having a constant hangover is gone."
"It is now two weeks since I had the second treatment. to do other than just the ordinary everyday things."
"I am incredibly happy that I chose the "Re-Mind" treatment and can only recommend it to others with late effects after a concussion."
How the Re-Mind treatment works
Re-Mind is a medical treatment aimed at neuroinflammation - an inflammatory condition that can occur in the brain after, among other things, a concussion, a traumatic brain injury, a blood clot or bleeding in the brain or covid-19. The treatment is offered by Rehab-Partner | Neurologic Recovery Clinics and is supervised by the clinic's neurologist, Güven Gürbüz, specialist in neurology. He explains the background to the treatment:
"When you have had a concussion, the blood-brain barrier that normally protects the brain can become leaky. This can trigger a long-term inflammatory state in the brain, which we call neuroinflammation. Symptoms such as daily headaches, dizziness, nausea and sensitivity to light and sound - such as those described by Karina - can be seen when neuroinflammation is present. The Re-Mind treatment is aimed at reducing this inflammation. It is important to emphasize that patients do not respond equally to the treatment, and that the effect depends, among other things, on how large a part of the symptoms is due to inflammation."
The treatment is off-label. This means that an approved medicine is used for a purpose other than that for which the medicine was originally approved. All patients receive information about this and give informed consent.
You must know this before a treatment
Before a Re-Mind treatment, you undergo a mandatory specialist assessment, a review of your medical history and screening blood tests. The treatment is only offered if the condition is deemed suitable, and not everyone experiences an effect from the treatment.
The most frequent side effects of the treatment are mild. They may include redness or itching at the injection site, a slight feeling of fever without actual fever, and transient headache, typically for one day.
Re-Mind is offered as a medical supplement to the other treatment and rehabilitation. If you want to know more, you can attend one of the information meetings held by Neurologic Recovery Clinics.
