3.5 years of stress and late sequelae

Morten describes a turning point after three years of stress and late sequelae

3.5 years ago, Morten collapsed after many years in the advertising industry with constant pressure. Stress reaction, depression and tremors in the right arm followed. Three years of medical treatment did not help. He describes the Re-Mind treatment as a turning point.

Eternal fatigue – the children had to walk on their feet

Everyday life came to a standstill. Morten was extremely sensitive to sound and constantly tired – what he himself calls "eternal fatigue". Even small tasks felt unmanageable, and he could no longer work with the complex programs that were previously a natural part of his job.

For three years, Morten was treated with various medications without experiencing sufficient improvement – until he decided to try the Re-Mind treatment. He talks about the change:

"It was like experiencing everything anew. It's wild. There is hope and a future. I can be with my children in a good way, and my girlfriend feels my drive."

How the Re-Mind treatment works

Re-Mind is a medical treatment aimed at neuroinflammation - an inflammatory condition that can occur in the brain after, among other things, a concussion, a traumatic brain injury, a blood clot or bleeding in the brain or covid-19. The treatment is offered by Rehab-Partner | Neurologic Recovery Clinics and is supervised by the clinic's neurologist, Güven Gürbüz, specialist in neurology. He explains the background to the treatment:

"Long-term stress can in certain cases give rise to a persistent inflammation in the brain - neuroinflammation - which can contribute to symptoms such as pronounced fatigue, sound sensitivity and reduced cognitive capacity. The Re-Mind treatment is aimed at reducing this inflammation. It is important to emphasize that the treatment does not replace psychiatric or psychological treatment, and that the effect varies from patient to patient."

The treatment is off-label. This means that an approved medicine is used for a purpose other than that for which the medicine was originally approved. All patients receive information about this and give informed consent.

You must know this before a treatment

Before a Re-Mind treatment, the patient undergoes a mandatory specialist assessment, screening blood tests and a review of the medical history. The treatment is only offered to those who are assessed as suitable – and not everyone experiences an effect.

Side effects are generally mild: slight redness or itching at the injection site, a short-term sensation of fever without actual fever or a slight temporary headache, typically lasting one day.

Re-Mind is offered as a medical supplement to the other treatment and rehabilitation. You can sign up for an informational meeting at Neurologic Recovery Clinics to hear more.
