Acquired brain injury
An acquired brain injury is damage to the brain occurring after birth, for example due to stroke, cerebral haemorrhage, illness, oxygen deprivation or an accident. Its effects depend on the location and extent of injury and may affect physical, cognitive, emotional and social functioning.

Stress and stress-related reactions include psychological and physical responses that can arise when prolonged or intense demands exceed the resources a person feels able to draw on. Symptoms may include restlessness, sleep problems, fatigue, difficulty concentrating, muscle tension and changes in mood, affecting wellbeing, relationships and everyday functioning.
